God's Glory through Christ Christ had the glory of God before his time on earth. Jesus prayed, “And now, glorify Thou Me together with Thyself, Father, with the glory which I ever had with Thee before the world was” (John 17:5). Christ displayed God’s glory on earth. “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14) Christ will displayed God’s glory again on His return. When He returns, He will come “on the clouds of the sky with power and great glory” (Matt. 24:30) To His glory what should be our response? The angels sang “Glory to God in the highest” (Luke 2:14), we should praise Him. His glory will incite us to change: “But we all, with unveiled face beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit” (2 Cor. 3:18). As we see God's glory, the Holy Spirit convicts us of our sins and assist us in growth as we live righteous lives. As “children of God,” we “appear as lights in the world” (Phil. 2:15). As a mirror reflects light, we are to reflect His glory onto a sinful world. We seek to live a holy life so that we reflection His glory as brightly as possible.
